What is compressed air?

What is compressed air?
Compressed air is the ambient air that is compressed to a specific pressure by means of a compressor. This compressed air makes it possible to operate a pneumatic actuator. These are instruments that can make a movement or force through compressed air.

Where is compressed air used?
Compressed air is easy to store. By compressing the air in a compressed air tank, a certain pressure is created. If there is 7 times more liters of air in a compressed air tank then you have an overpressure of 7 Bar. This pressure ensures the transfer of energy in industrial processes such as pneumatic cylinders and valves. We call this pneumatics.

What can you do with compressed air?
Compressed air is often used to make something move. Pneumatic cylinders ensure linear movement. These cylinders are driven by compressed air. The cylinders make it possible to pick up, move or clamp products. The cylinders come in many different designs. From very small to very large. There are also single-acting and double-acting cylinders.
